Moving in $33 residential setup fee

The City’s current utility-service form lists a $33 residential new-account fee. A separate deposit may also be required.

Logan is a multi-service municipal utility account. The City’s current service form specifically lists electricity, water, sewer, garbage, recycling, stormwater and 911 dispatch among the services covered by the utility signup process.

How to Pay a Logan City Utilities Bill

The City’s current Municipal Online Services page is the safest starting point for online payment. It offers both Quick Pay and registered-account access.

Option What you need Useful detail
Quick Pay Utility account number No normal account login is required.
Sign in Registered username and password Useful for account details, e-billing and multi-account management.
Register Account information and exact customer details The City’s account-confirmation system may ask for the account number including dashes and the full name exactly as printed on the bill.
Payment methods Visa, Mastercard, Discover or eCheck These are the methods currently displayed by the City’s online payment service.
Official Logan City Utility Billing Portal
After opening the Logan utility payment portal
  1. Choose Quick Pay if you only need to submit a payment without normal account access.
  2. Choose Sign In / Register if you want billing details, e-billing or account-management features.
  3. Keep the complete utility account number from your bill available.
  4. Confirm the account information before submitting payment.
  5. Save the confirmation until the transaction appears correctly on your account.
Large online credit-card payment rule: the City’s current payment portal states that online eSuite credit-card payments totaling more than $3,000 in one month on a single Logan City utility account will result in a 3% surcharge on the next utility bill. The surcharge is calculated on the total amount paid by credit card for that month.
If a payment is urgent because the bill is late or service is at risk, call Utility Billing at 435-716-9208 rather than assuming an online payment by itself resolves a pending disconnection.

Logan City Utilities Login and Account Registration

Logan currently uses a Municipal Online Services payment page and also maintains its City utilities eSuite account system. The City’s payment page says customers can continue signing in with an existing username and password through its updated identity service.

If you are creating or confirming an account, keep your paper or electronic utility bill nearby. Logan’s account-confirmation screen asks for the account number, including any dashes, and the full name exactly as it appears on the bill.

Official Logan City eSuite Login
After opening the eSuite login
  1. Enter your existing username and password if the account is already registered.
  2. Use Create User Profile if you need online account access.
  3. If the City asks you to confirm the account, enter the full account number including the dash.
  4. Enter the customer name exactly as it appears on the bill.
  5. Use the password-reset or username-recovery option rather than repeatedly guessing credentials.
Account-number formatting matters. Logan’s own registration example uses a number in a format such as 002923-001. Do not remove the dash when the account-confirmation page asks for the complete number.

Start Logan City Utility Service

Logan’s current Utility Service Request is more detailed than a simple portal registration. The form covers City electricity, water, sewer, garbage, recycling, 911 dispatch and stormwater services.

What to Prepare

  • Requested service-start date
  • Service and mailing addresses
  • Telephone number and email preference
  • Government-issued photo identification
  • Required account-holder identity information
  • Emergency contacts not living with you
Residential setup fee $33

The current City form lists a $33 residential account setup fee.

Commercial setup fee $54

The same form lists a $54 commercial setup fee.

Deposit Amount varies by account

If a deposit is required, the current instructions say it must be paid within one month of signing up for utilities.

Official Logan Utility Service Request Form
After opening the service-request form
  1. Read the instruction page before entering private information.
  2. Complete the applicable account, service and identification fields.
  3. Sign the form and enter the date you want service to begin.
  4. Provide the requested government-issued photo ID documentation.
  5. If a deposit is required, follow the City’s payment deadline.
  6. Return the form using an official City method or bring it to Utility Billing.
The form contains private information. Logan’s current instruction sheet warns that emailing the completed form can expose sensitive information if email is compromised. If you do not want to accept that risk, use an official in-person or mail route and call Utility Billing if you need clarification before submitting documents.

What Happens After You Apply?

The City uses the requested date on the form to establish service. The setup fee is part of the account process, and any required deposit must be paid within the period stated by Logan. If information is missing, Utility Billing may need additional documentation before the account can be completed.

Late Logan Utility Bill or Shutoff Risk

Logan’s current Utility Service Request states that a payment arrangement may be allowed when a customer cannot pay the bill in full by the due date. The same form says an arrangement can allow the customer to avoid shutoff while paying the late balance.

Call before service is disconnected: contact Utility Billing at 435-716-9208 and ask whether your account qualifies for a payment arrangement. An arrangement is not automatic.

The current service form also warns that unpaid balances can result in disconnection and collection costs. If your account is already overdue, rely on the due date and notices tied to your own account rather than assuming another customer’s timeline applies to you.

Current Fees Listed on Logan’s Utility Service Form

These fees are useful because they explain the cost of several common account problems that are not obvious from the online payment portal.

Item Published amount What to know
Residential account setup $33 Listed on the current Utility Service Request.
Commercial account setup $54 Listed separately from residential setup.
NSF payment $45 Applies to non-sufficient-funds payments under the current form.
Meter tampering $94 Published meter-tampering fee.
Customer-requested meter read $6 or $10 per meter The amount depends on the applicable meter/read situation.
Disconnect or reconnect $22 Current form lists $22 to disconnect or reconnect a meter.
After-hours reconnect $71 Listed for meters reconnected outside 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
These are the amounts printed on the City form available during this September 2026 review. Confirm the charge with Utility Billing if a fee will affect a time-sensitive reconnection or new-service decision.

Logan Electric Rate Change Starts October 1, 2026

Logan Municipal Council approved revised Logan Light & Power residential, commercial and industrial electric-rate schedules on August 18, 2026.

The first proposal would have taken effect September 1, but that motion failed. Council then approved October 1, 2026 as the effective date by a 4-0 vote.

During the Council presentation, Light & Power estimated that a residential customer using roughly 600-700 kWh per month would see an average electric-bill increase of about $2.90 per month under the revised rates.

The resolution also changes Logan’s power-cost adjustment mechanism. Because this article is being reviewed before October 1, do not apply the new rates to a September bill.

  3. Locate the section for Resolution 26-27.
  4. Review the Council discussion and the final October 1 effective date.
  5. For a bill issued after October 1, compare the actual rate printed by Logan with the new schedule rather than relying on an older rate table.

Logan Power Outage and Utility Emergency Contacts

Logan City owns and operates Logan City Light & Power. The department’s published customer-service number is 435-716-9700.

The City has also published 435-716-9090 as its SOCC 24-hour outage/emergency line. Current City public-works standards direct emergency water-system shutdown coordination to that same SOCC number day or night.

Power outage SOCC: 435-716-9090

Use the outage/emergency route for an unexpected loss of City electric service, especially outside normal office hours.

Electric-service question Light & Power: 435-716-9700

Use the department contact for non-emergency electric-service questions.

Downed electrical line: stay away from the line and anything touching it. Do not attempt to move a wire, branch or object yourself. Call the utility/emergency line and use 911 when there is an immediate threat to life, fire or public safety.
