Ocala Utilities: Pay Bill, Login & Phone 2026

Ocala Utilities: Pay Bill, Login & Phone 2026

City of Ocala, Florida • Municipal Services • Ocala Electric Utility

If you need to pay a City of Ocala utilities bill, sign in to the correct account system, report a power outage, start service or ask for more time to pay, first determine whether the account uses traditional billing or Ocala’s prepaid program. The payment systems and urgent-payment rules are different.

A City of Ocala municipal services statement can include electric, water, sewer, stormwater, sanitation, fiber and other billed services depending on the property. Ocala Electric Utility, or OEU, is the City’s community-owned electric provider.

Independent guide: city-utilities.org is not the City of Ocala or Ocala Electric Utility. We cannot see an account balance, accept a payment, extend a due date or reconnect service. Use the official City pages and authorized payment systems for account numbers, passwords and financial information.

Ocala Utilities Quick Answers

Customer Service 352-629-2489
Traditional pay by phone 844-286-1785
Prepaid pay by phone 888-443-4086
Electric outage 352-351-6666
Traditional customer Use Invoice Cloud

Traditional and commercial accounts use the Invoice Cloud route linked from the City’s Pay My Bill page for statements, one-time payments, AutoPay and paperless billing.

Prepaid customer Use MyUsage

Prepaid OEU customers manage balance, daily usage, alerts and payments through MyUsage instead of a normal monthly paper bill.

Pending disconnect Payment method matters

Ocala specifically identifies real-time or same-day routes for urgent accounts. A slower kiosk, mail or retail payment can delay posting.

Paper-bill change for AutoPay customers: since June 2, 2025, City of Ocala Municipal Services customers using AutoPay receive their bill by email unless they ask Customer Service to continue paper billing.

How to Pay a City of Ocala Utility Bill

Do not choose a payment method until you know whether the account is traditional or prepaid. The City publishes different phone numbers, account portals and posting rules for the two billing types.

Traditional billing

Invoice Cloud

  • Monthly municipal-services statement
  • One-time online payment
  • AutoPay and paperless billing
  • Pay-by-text options
  • Phone payment: 844-286-1785
Prepaid electric customer

MyUsage

  • Daily balance and usage monitoring
  • No normal monthly paper statement
  • Low-balance notifications
  • Auto-recharge option
  • Phone payment: 888-443-4086
Official City of Ocala Pay My Bill Page
After opening the City payment page
  1. Identify whether the account is Traditional Billing or Prepaid Billing.
  2. Traditional customers should follow the City’s Invoice Cloud link.
  3. Prepaid customers should follow the MyUsage link.
  4. If the account is pending disconnection, read the City’s posting-time instructions before choosing a payment route.
  5. Save the payment confirmation until the municipal-services account shows the payment.

Traditional Billing Payment Fees

Card online 2.50% convenience fee

Ocala currently lists Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover, with a $5,000 maximum per card transaction.

E-check online No City convenience fee listed

Electronic checks are currently listed as free online and at City payment kiosks, with no stated transaction maximum.

Card by phone 2.50% + $0.50

The City’s current page lists the normal card convenience charge plus an additional $0.50 for automated-phone card payments.

E-check by phone $0.50

The automated phone system currently lists a $0.50 convenience fee for an e-check payment.

Traditional account pending disconnect? Ocala says to use the Invoice Cloud Portal or the traditional automated phone system at 844-286-1785 for real-time/same-day account credit. A scheduled Invoice Cloud payment does not create a payment extension.

Payment Kiosks

Kiosks accept cash, checks and credit cards. Cash kiosks do not provide change.

  • Customer Service Office: 201 SE 3rd St. — outside kiosk available 24/7.
  • Marion County Public Library: 2720 E Silver Springs Blvd. — available during library hours.
  • Mary Sue Rich Community Center: 1821 NW 21st Ave. — available during normal facility hours.
A drive-up Municipal Services payment drop box is also located on the Fort King Street side of City Hall, and another drop box is outside the Customer Service Office at 201 SE 3rd St.

Ocala Utilities Login: Which Portal Should You Use?

There is not one login for every Ocala customer. The account type determines the portal.

Traditional / commercial billing Invoice Cloud

Use the Invoice Cloud link on the official City Pay My Bill page to view monthly statements, make a one-time payment, enroll in AutoPay, choose paperless billing or set up pay-by-text.

Prepaid billing MyUsage

Use MyUsage to check prepaid balance, daily electric or water usage, payment history and alert settings.

Open MyUsage for Ocala Prepaid Accounts
After opening MyUsage
  1. Choose Login if your prepaid account is already registered.
  2. Use Forgot Password if the email is recognized but you cannot sign in.
  3. New users can use Register and select the applicable utility.
  4. After login, check the current credit balance and notification settings.
  5. Keep your phone number and email current because Ocala relies on prepaid alerts for low balance and disconnection notices.
Traditional customers: start from the City of Ocala Pay My Bill page rather than a generic Invoice Cloud search result. This keeps you on the payment processor route selected by the City.

Ocala Prepaid Service: Costs, Rules and Reconnection

Ocala’s prepaid option is specifically for residential customers who have electric service through Ocala Electric Utility. Instead of waiting for a traditional monthly bill, customers maintain a positive account balance and monitor usage through MyUsage.

New prepaid customer $57 service fee + $50 beginning credit

The $50 is credited to the prepaid balance. A normal residential security deposit is not required.

Returning / transfer $34 service fee

Current prepaid terms list the lower service fee for existing or transferring customers, with required account credit depending on the transaction.

Prepaid fee structure No normal late, disconnect or reconnect fee

That does not mean service continues with a zero balance. Maintaining sufficient account credit remains the customer’s responsibility.

What Happens When a Prepaid Balance Reaches $0?

The City’s current prepaid terms say service is subject to disconnection when the account no longer has a credit balance, including on weekends.

Before reconnection, the account must be brought back to at least a $15 credit balance, plus amounts that accumulated after the balance reached zero and any applicable debt-recovery amount.

Use a fast payment route after prepaid disconnection. Ocala directs disconnected prepaid customers to MyUsage, the MyUsage app, 888-443-4086, MoneyGram using receiver code 8837, or Fidelity Express. Other payment methods may take up to two business days to post.

Prepaid Is a 12-Month Commitment

The current prepaid agreement requires customers to remain on prepaid service for 12 months. A customer returning to traditional billing after that period must meet the traditional-account security-deposit requirement.

Medical equipment caution: Ocala’s prepaid agreement warns that prepaid electric service can be disconnected whenever the account lacks sufficient credit. The City recommends traditional billing rather than prepaid service when someone in the home depends on life-sustaining electrical medical equipment.

Start, Stop or Transfer Ocala Utility Service

Residential customers can choose between traditional billing and prepaid billing when the property qualifies. Prepaid service requires Ocala Electric Utility electric service.

Traditional residential

Monthly billed service

  • $57 service charge for a new customer
  • $34 for returning customers or transfers
  • Residential deposit equals two times the average monthly bill
  • Identification and proof of residency required before activation
Prepaid residential

Pay-before-use service

  • Must include OEU electric service
  • No normal security deposit
  • $57 new-customer service fee
  • $50 beginning account credit

Ocala’s current traditional residential agreement asks for identification, proof of residency, service address, contact information and the requested service date. The form states that service start dates cannot be weekends or holidays.

Official Ocala Start, Stop & Transfer Service
After opening the service page
  1. Choose Prepaid Billing, Traditional Billing, Residential Transfer or Disconnect Service.
  2. For new service, confirm that the address is within the relevant City service area.
  3. Prepare the identification and residency documents requested by the official application.
  4. Review the service fee and, for traditional billing, the deposit requirement.
  5. Submit the online form or use the City’s email, fax, mail or in-person alternative if the form does not work.
If an online service form fails, Ocala says applications can also be sent to customerservice@ocalafl.gov, faxed to 352-629-1381, or submitted at 201 SE 3rd St.

Need More Time to Pay? Ocala Payment Extension Rules

Qualifying residential customers can request an online payment extension, but the request must be made before the disconnection date.

Annual limit 2 extensions per calendar year

Eligibility also depends on account payment history, the past-due amount and how long it has been overdue.

Late fee 5% still applies

An approved extension does not eliminate the late charge for payment made after the original due date.

Broken agreement 1-year loss of eligibility

Ocala says a customer who breaks an extension agreement becomes ineligible for another extension for one year.

Official Ocala Payment Extension
After opening the payment-extension page
  1. Confirm that the account is still before its disconnection date.
  2. Review the City’s eligibility factors and two-extension annual limit.
  3. Complete the online extension request.
  4. Watch for the confirmation email; Ocala says approved online requests receive confirmation by the next business day.
  5. If no confirmation arrives or shutoff is close, call Customer Service at 352-629-2489 rather than assuming the extension was approved.

Ocala Electric Utility Power Outage Help

Electric outages use a different phone number from ordinary billing questions. Call 352-351-6666 to report an OEU power outage.

Power outage 352-351-6666

OEU asks customers to report an outage once so the outage line remains available to other affected customers.

Only your home is out Check your breaker safely

If nearby homes still have power, the problem may involve the home’s breaker, service line or customer-owned weatherhead equipment.

Official OEU Outage Report & Map
After opening the OEU outage page
  1. Use the City’s outage-reporting number if your outage has not yet been reported.
  2. Open the outage map to check known outages in the OEU service area.
  3. Keep the phone number associated with the utility account current because OEU uses account, meter and phone information to identify outage calls.
  4. Do not approach downed power lines or damaged electrical equipment.
Damaged weatherhead? OEU says customer-owned weatherhead equipment must be repaired by a licensed electrician before the utility can reconnect electric service.

Ocala Water and Sewer: Important 2026 Changes

Ocala Water Resources handles drinking-water production and sanitary-sewer collection and treatment. For a leak or another water-service issue, the department lists 352-351-6775.

Rate change begins October 1, 2026: the City says residential water and sewer rates will increase by 5% under its multi-year rate plan. For an average residential customer using 6,000 gallons per month, the City estimates an increase of about $4.53 per month.
Official Ocala Water Resources
After opening the Water Resources page
  1. Review the current rate-change or water-shortage notice at the top of the page.
  2. Use the Water Resources contact information for water or sewer operational questions.
  3. For a leak or service issue, use the department’s current leak-reporting number.
  4. For billing questions about the municipal-services statement, use Customer Service at 352-629-2489 instead.

Current Water-Shortage Notice

At the time of this September 2026 review, most of Marion County—including Ocala—is under a Phase III Extreme Water Shortage Advisory.

The City’s current notice restricts irrigation to one day per week: odd-numbered addresses on Saturday, even-numbered addresses on Sunday and non-residential properties on Tuesday. Irrigation is prohibited between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and is limited to no more than three-quarters of an inch per zone on the scheduled day.

What Can Appear on an Ocala Municipal Services Bill?

The exact statement depends on where the property is located and which City services it receives. Ocala says a municipal-services account may contain one or more of the following:

Metered services Electric and water

Usage is tied to the applicable meter, rate class and billing period.

Property / municipal services Sewer, stormwater and sanitation

These charges can appear alongside electric and water rather than arriving as completely separate City bills.

Other eligible services Fiber and yard lighting

The City also lists fiber and yard-light services among the municipal services it can provide.

Do not compare only the grand total when investigating a high bill. Compare the individual electric, water, sewer, stormwater, sanitation or fiber lines to see which component actually changed.

High Ocala Utility Bill? Start With Usage Monitoring

Ocala makes usage monitoring available to OEU customers through MyUsage. The system can show daily electric and water consumption, making it more useful than comparing two bill totals without checking actual usage.

Identify the line item that increased. Separate electric, water and other municipal charges instead of treating the bill as one number.
Review daily usage. MyUsage can show when electric or water consumption increased during the billing period.
Check obvious property changes. Air-conditioning use, guests, irrigation, leaks, pool equipment or new appliances can materially change consumption.
Compare rates and usage separately. OEU explains that electric billing includes a monthly service charge, energy charge and Power Cost Adjustment.
Call Customer Service if the increase remains unexplained. Keep the statement and usage history in front of you when calling 352-629-2489.
